As specialists in the development of applications for fire protection, access control, and product testing, Tecnitex recently carried out a comprehensive fire sectorization project for a company in the industrial sector, Cárnicas Villar Soria.
The company, with a long history in the industry, has a 43,000 m² warehouse that required ensuring fire sectors, so that its integrity and thermal insulation were guaranteed in the event of a fire, for at least 180 minutes, withstanding temperatures of 1,000 ºC.
To achieve this, we supplied and installed 12 fire curtains S-MFB-EI180 with irrigation for controlling and compartmentalizing between the fire sectors of the different rooms in the food industry.
The challenge: tight deadline and a large area to sectorize
First, we conducted a study of the project, with the aim of providing the most accurate response to the client. After the study, we concluded that the risk did not affect our production capacity: we had the necessary resources.
Additionally, the study confirmed that it was not necessary for the client to stop their activity during the installation process.
To carry out the project, the timeline for manufacturing and installing the fire curtains was two weeks, a record time in which the involvement of the team and interdepartmental coordination was key.
This also posed a new challenge: obtaining the raw material, stainless steel, in the shortest possible time, as well as painting the metal components and specifically programming the electronic components. The goal? To meet a challenge we had committed to.
The solution: manufacturing in record time and exemplary coordination
Thanks to thorough planning and smooth connection between the different departments, both the manufacturing of the curtains and their installation were completed within the set deadlines.
The result was a flawless finish, an effective final startup with the Technical Management and the rest of the technical team, and the completion of the installation within the required time.
